One of the most Amazing Milestone’s in a Child’s Life is Turning One Year Old! It’s their Very First Birthday and Wonderful reason to Celebrate.
There are so many Fun Themes for a First Birthday Party, and the Theme I’m going to focus on today is Winter ONEderland. I can Imagine so many Neat Interpretations of this theme, from Glittery Lights to Arctic Animals to Beautiful Snow.
And as the weather in Australia turns Chillier, this is the Perfect Theme for Cold-Weather Babies. You can bring the Wonderful, Snowy Outdoors inside (and leave the cold outside where it belongs!).
At Katie J Design and Events, we have two Fantastic, Personalised Winter ONEderland Party Themes: Pink & Silver and Blue & Silver. These are just Recently Updated!
Here are some of my Ideas and Inspiration, including Customer Photographs, for throwing your own Winter ONEderland Themed Party!

Winter ONEderland Decorations
Decorating is one of my Favourite parts of prepping for a party. It’s so much fun coming up with Creative ways to create a thematic space!
First, I consider the Colour. It’s one of the Easiest but most Impactful ways to create a Comprehensive Theme. For Winter ONEderland, I love a Pastel Pink or Blue with White and Silver. You can decide which is the Main Colour and which are the Accents!
Tie your Colour into the tablecloths, balloons, plates, cups, napkins, and utensils. You can really make an impact with a Party Banner and Balloon Display (don’t worry, I have all of the information you need to make one at the link!).
Here’s a photo of a Customer’s Party Banner and Balloon Display. I absolutely Adore the Pinks, White, and Silver of this Celebration!
You can also think of accent decorations that you can use for the Theme. Here’s an example of one of our Customers using Silver, Glittery Accents for their Daughter Anayis’s Winter ONEderland Party. You can see a Snowflake on the table and Glittery Butterfly on the Gift Bag! So Cute!
You can do a Lot with this Theme with Snowflakes, Fairy Lights, Arctic Animals, Glitter, Snowmen, and even Cozy Mittens. Just choose one Concept and tie it in where you can.
Winter ONEderland Treats
There are a lot of fun snacks you can make for a Winter ONEderland Party. For some reason, I think of lots of Candy and Sugary Treats, but there are really no limitations when it comes to Delicious and Easy Party Food.
For Anayis’s Winter ONEderland Celebration, the Party Table featured a Beautiful themed cake by River City Cakes, Candy Dishes filled with PInk and White Treats, Chocolates with Personalised Winter ONEderland Labels, and Snowflake-Shaped Chocolate Lollipops.
From this view you can also see some White Chocolate and Pudding Desserts!
I have a Few Amazing Party Treat Hacks so you could make your own Treats similar to these. Check out my Easy No Bake Chocolate Spoons and Layered Jellies!

Hot Chocolate Bar
One of our Customers made an Amazing Hot Cocoa Bar for their Winter ONEderland Theme and I think it’s Perfect! They’ve used our Party Cup Stickers around insulated mugs.
If you wanted to try a Hot Cocoa Bar, you would only need a few supplies to make it work!
- Insulated cups
- Warm water
- Variety of hot chocolate flavour packets
- Toppings: chocolate chips, marshmallows, whipped cream, sprinkles, peppermint sticks, cinnamon sticks, or caramel
- Bowls and spoons for each topping
The Guests can serve themselves to a Rich, Delicious Treat. For younger kids, you could just have some Chocolate Milk on hand!
Winter ONEderland Activities
What’s a Party without Games? Little Kids Love to Run Around, Dance, and Play. Here are some Ideas of Activities you can have available for a Winter ONEderland Party.
Arts and Crafts
Even the littlest kids can Create Beautiful works of art. Cut out some Snowflakes, or have Colouring Sheets of Arctic Animals available for Kids to Decorate. Depending on how Messy you’re willing to get, you can provide Glitter, Crayons, and even Finger Paint!
Freeze Dance
Playing the “Freeze” Dance is the Perfect way to Celebrate a Winter ONEderland theme with Little Kids! Play some music, let them move around and dance, and when the music stops they all have to stand still!
Cardboard Cutout
Photo opportunities are always fun at parties. One of my Favourite Activities I created was my DIY Cardboard Cutout! I used this at my son’s Minion Party, but you can easily adapt it for any Party Theme. For a Winter ONEderland Theme, you could easily make a Snowman!
Fun in the Snow
Encourage all of your guests to bring some Winter Clothes and let them spend a little time outside. If it’s snowing, you can even bring some inside and put it in a big bin for the kids to play with.
If there’s no real snow, did you know you can make your own Fake Snow (courtesy of Elf on the Shelf AU)! This would be just as fun to play with! I hope you’ve found some Inspiration for your own Winter ONEderland Party! Don’t forget to check out our Personalised Themes: Pink & Silver and Blue & Silver.
