Paige’s 1st Birthday Floral Mudcake
The first time I made this Floral Mudcake Hack was the day before my daughter Paige’s 1st Birthday. I wanted something Easy but Beautiful to Celebrate and Sing Happy Birthday, and it would only be the Five of Us, as her Huge Party was the weekend before.
So in only 5 minutes during my lunch break that day, I whipped up this Beautiful Floral Cake with a Super Easy Cake Hack.
Ingredients and Supplies
You don’t need much for this Floral Mudcake Hack! Here’s everything you need:
- One Mud Cake
- Betty Crocker Frosting
- Gel Colouring
- Fancy Serving Dish
- Spatula for Icing
- Fake Flowers
- Cashous or other small decorations of choice
You can probably already tell it doesn’t take much to make this Floral Cake.
But wait until I tell you that this was even more of a Hack, because I didn’t buy any Fake Flowers. I used some from Arrangements that were already around my house! I just cut one from each Bunch and I couldn’t even tell any were missing.
Directions
The directions for making this Floral Mudcake Hack are Short and Simple. In the picture below you can see how the Cake started as a Coles Mud Cake that Quickly Transformed with some Icing.
Here are the Easy Directions:
- Place your Mudcake on the serving dish you want to use.
- Colour the Frosting. I just mixed some Pink Gel Colouring into the White Betty Crocker Frosting I bought for a Bright Pink Colour.
- Ice the Cake!
- Add Fake Flowers. (Tip: Make sure to wipe the Flowers and Leaves Clean before placing them on the Cake)
- Add White Cashous to the Top and Base of the Cake for a little extra Decoration
That’s it! A Beautiful and Easy Cake fit for a Princess in 5 minutes!
Paige Loved her Cake, and since it only took 5 minutes to make, no one minded that most of it ended up all over her Cute Little Cheeks!
Variations
I also used this Floral Mudcake Hack for a Very Similar Cake a Few Years Later. This time, I made a Floral Cake for my Mum’s Rustic Floral Themed 60th Birthday.
I stacked 3 Cakes on top of Each Other. Feel free to use 3 Coles Mud Cakes for an Easy Hack! Then I Dirty Iced the Cake with Coles Vanilla Frosting. Next, I cut out some Fake Flowers and used them to Decorate the Cake.
This Version is a little more Elegant, but I think both of these Floral Cakes are Amazing and Delicious Hacks!
I hope I’ve provided Fun Inspiration for a Delicious and Easy Cake for your Next Birthday. Check out our other Cake Hacks, too!
